on my first week i was given the talk to create the look of the house for the game by making a room, this was quite simple the fact i had to make a pixel design was different to me, but they were happy with the look i made but i u used a normal picture to make the view through the window which everyone thought it such be pixel which i wasn't bothered with and thought it does make more scenes i only did it to quick down the time.
to make the room. i looked up pixel art and got references for a normal room and its furniture iv used. i didn't know how to create pixel so i Googled what i need to do to create pixel art, so i did its really simple you just draw in squares as i knew already but i wanted to know the best and quickies way to go about it. there were tutorials and how to change a picture to pixels but i thought it was to much hassle so i just changed the brush tool to a square patten and drew.
the next task they wanted me to do was make assists the the house, so we Ben made a list for each assist they wanted to be inside the house. i was creating there's assets. where were getting confused on what everyone was doing so i cant work any anything for awhile because i didn't know who was doing what then matayo told to to make the attic.
the attic the same method of any designs i make is to find references so in the case attic references, from google,
i have a handful of images and i wanted to make the room to be blue and orange so i was looking for this certain colour pallet, because it easier to use a really base design for your own design. they want the assets separate from the whole design so i thought it would be better if i made the assist first then the room and i could simply put all the different designs such ass chairs, boxes, the floors well anything you would get in an attic.
sofa- got my images of a real sofa and picked my favourite and drew it in pixel with the colour pallet in my mind and made it blue. they wanted it saved as a tiff with no back ground also.
boxs- after the sofa i wanted to put something which usually is in every attic which is boxes you usually get set of three to save time copied and pasted one to three. made it a tiff with no back ground.
closet- again got a little references and made it to pixel.
lights- same as before. i used orange for the colour
windows- same used an orangey brown.
every thing is orange and blue i thought maybe i should put some other colours didn't look right and just stayed with same colour.
this is how i make the assists now i have to make the room to put them in.
the assist sizes is 200x200 and the the room is 640w x 480 h
i just made the wall of the room as a back ground. blue and whit wallpaper blue floor and because i have made all the furniture simple dragged and placed them in to the room. i moved around the composition to see which was best.
next task i finished the room and now they want me to make a roof on top.
i started with the sides i knew i could copy past to fit the other side and just tinker with it so it doesn't look symmetrical i made every thing on a separate layer just in case they didn't want it.
then made the top of the roof which was the size of the room 640w x 480 h we needed a sky which was no effort. i just used blue to fill the back ground then placed my assists of a cloud to make it more ovbiuse that its sky. whilst making the sky i noticed that my roof didn't have a chimney.
i got an email of motayo saying that i need to make and assembly point sign
